Today's birthdays on the index, a this-week page, and a once-a-year gift nobody can double-claim.
The oldest retention feature on any forum, done without template edits: the board notices birthdays on its own, and optionally puts a little credit in the celebrant's wallet.
What it gives you:
• A violet celebration strip on the index on any day someone has a birthday, with names linked to profiles and a link to the full list.
• A community page showing today plus the next seven days, including the age a member is turning when they share a birth year.
• Reads MyBB's native birthday profile field, so no profile changes and no new fields.
• When DF Credits is active, the celebrant gets an automatic +25 credit gift the first time they visit on their birthday — protected by a unique (member, year) key, so it can never be claimed twice.
• Without DF Credits the gift is skipped and the strip and page still work. Zero settings, zero template edits.

Requirements
- MyBB 1.8.40 is the tested target.
- PHP 8.1 or newer (runtime tested on 8.4.27).
- Members filling in their birthday in their profile — the plugin reads that native field.
- DF Credits is optional and only affects the gift.

Questions people ask
What if a member hides their birth year?
The birthday still shows; only the age is omitted, because there is nothing honest to calculate.
Can the credit gift be claimed twice?
No. A unique (member, year) key is written with the gift, so a second claim is refused by the database itself.
Does it need DF Credits?
No. Without it no credits move, no gift rows accumulate, and the strip and list keep working.
