Move any post one place up or down with a single tap — atomically, with the thread pointers kept truthful.
Sometimes a post lands in the wrong order and the thread reads badly because of it. Rebuilding the thread is not an option; nudging one post is. Post Mover puts two chips in every post head and does the swap properly.
What it gives you:
• A ⬆️ and a ⬇️ chip inside each post head for staff — one tap moves that post a single position.
• The swap exchanges the two posts' datelines inside a real transaction, so it is atomic and race-free rather than a hopeful pair of updates.
• The thread's first-post and last-post pointers follow the swap, so the thread header and the forum list stay truthful.
• Trying to move the top post up, or the bottom post down, gets a polite "nothing to swap with" instead of a corrupted thread.
• Permission-gated exactly like the moderator queue: admins, super moderators, mod CP users and forum moderators only. Guests and ordinary members never see the chips.
This is the 2.0 line and it is free for everyone; the 1.0 audience only ever saw missing-archive notices.

Requirements
- MyBB 1.8.40 is the tested target.
- PHP 8.1 or newer (runtime tested on 8.4.27).
- Transactional storage — InnoDB — so the swap can be atomic.
- Staff groups that should see the chips, so you can sanity-check the gate.

1. Back up your files and database first.
2. Upload the inc/ folder from the archive into your MyBB root, keeping the paths.

Questions people ask
Does moving a post change its timestamp permanently?
Yes. The swap exchanges datelines, which is what changes the order. Ordering therefore follows MyBB's normal dateline-based sort.
Can I move a post several places at once?
No. Each tap is one position, deliberately — repeated taps are cheap and there is no way to overshoot a whole thread.
What happens if two moderators tap at the same time?
The swap runs inside a transaction, so one move completes before the other is evaluated.
