PM notification badge with dropdown showing unread messages.
A MyBB plugin that adds a PM notification badge to the navigation bar showing the count of unread private messages. Hovering over the badge shows a dropdown with the most recent unread messages, including sender name, subject, message snippet, and date.
The badge uses a configurable color (default red) and shows the unread count in a circular badge overlay. The dropdown shows up to 10 recent messages with optional avatars and message snippets. Each message links to the private message view.
The dropdown appears on hover and disappears on mouse leave. Fully styled with inline CSS and JavaScript — no template edits required.

2. Extract the zip
3. Upload inc/plugins/fc_pm_alerts.php to your MyBB root
4. Go to MyBB Admin → Plugins → find "FC Private Message Alerts"
5. Click Activate
6. Go to Admin → Settings → FC PM Alerts to configure
