A thin bar across the top of the screen that fills as the reader scrolls a thread.
Long threads are easier to read when you can see how much is left. This draws a two-colour bar across the top of the screen and fills it in proportion to how far down the page the reader has scrolled.
What it gives you:
- A 3-pixel bar pinned to the top of the viewport, above everything else.
- Width recalculated from the real document height, so it stays accurate on short and very long threads.
- One passive scroll listener and a requestAnimationFrame guard, so scrolling stays smooth.
- No animation for visitors who asked their system for reduced motion.
Colours, height and position are three values in the template modification.

1. Admin CP > Add-ons > Install from archive, choose df-xenforo-scroll-progress-1.0.0.zip, then Install.
2. Open any long thread and scroll: the bar fills from left to right.
3. To change the colours or thickness, edit the style block in the template modification.

Questions people ask
Does it jump when images load late?
No. The width is recalculated on every scroll from the current document height, so it corrects itself as content settles. Will it cover my sticky header? The bar is 3 pixels tall and sits above the header, not over it. If you want it below, add top:auto and bottom:0 to the .dfxf-sp rule. Does it cost anything on the server? No - it is HTML, CSS and a few lines of JavaScript, all served from your own board.
